During a boss phase that forces constant repositioning, spending your last charge before a damage window can leave a PoE 2 rotation waiting instead of attacking. Idol of Eramir addresses part of that pressure, but it cannot rescue a build whose charge supply already collapses under movement. Before committing Path of Exile 2 Currency to a different equipment setup, identify whether your missed attacks come from empty charges, interrupted positioning, or slow recovery between opportunities. Those problems can feel identical in combat, yet only the first directly matches the idol's body armour effect. Its Sceptre interaction calls for a different, party-focused evaluation.

A Saved Charge Is Breathing Room, Not a Rotation

Idol of Eramir requires level 50 and is limited to one. Socketed into body armour, it gives skills a 10% chance to avoid removing Charges while still counting as consuming them. That distinction is the reason to consider it: a successful preservation can leave resources available for another eligible action without erasing the consumption event. However, 10% is not dependable enough to schedule your next attack around. Against a boss with brief punish windows, assume normal charge expenditure when planning your sequence. Treat any retained charges as extra flexibility, rather than extending your attack sequence in anticipation of a favorable result.

The useful measurement here is charge-ready uptime: how often your required charges are available when an actual attack opportunity appears. Track that separately from raw DPS. A preserved charge has little immediate value if ground effects force you out of range anyway, while one retained before a clean opening may prevent an otherwise necessary rebuilding step. Compare repeated attempts against the same encounter rather than judging one unusually smooth kill. The bonded body armour effect adds a separate 15% chance for Charms you use not to consume Charges. Keep skill charges and Charm charges separate in your assessment; these modifiers address different resource pressures.

Party Value Depends on Staying Together

In a Sceptre, Idol of Eramir makes allies in your Presence share Charges with you. Positioning therefore becomes part of the equipment decision, not merely a matter of convenience. A coordinated group that remains close has a clearer reason to investigate this interaction than players who routinely split around the arena. Measure proximity uptime during meaningful combat, especially when dangerous ground effects or pursuing enemies force teammates apart. The bonded Sceptre effect grants 25% increased Endurance, Frenzy, and Power Charge Duration. Longer duration can help charges survive repositioning, but it does not create charges or guarantee that allies remain inside your Presence.

The strongest case for Idol of Eramir is a build with a working charge supply and a specific efficiency problem, not one hoping a socket choice will repair its entire combat loop. Body armour suits players who can exploit occasional retained charges without depending on them; the Sceptre deserves attention from groups willing to coordinate spacing. Both become less convincing when encounters repeatedly deny attack access or scatter the party. Before spending POE 2 Exalted Orbs on the surrounding loadout, compare the idol with your alternative socket options and any equipment changes needed to accommodate it. In PoE 2, charge availability matters most when it produces an attack you can actually land.
